Sorry I've not posted for a while but the last fews days have been busy. We're literally just packing the car for the off to my parents place near Paisley then we have two wonderful nights to look forward to here.

On the needles..........

It seems like ages since I've posted about any actual knitting. I've had a bit of a hiatus from two sticks in favour of my wheel, hook, gripfid (ply split tool!) or other implement. Looking at my stash I realised that I still had some Colinette Giotto to knit into a cardi from my trip there in March. The colourway was in the sale part of the shop so if I run out then I'm in trouble.

The pattern is Aine from the Akashya pattern book. Its a nice and easy pattern with a bit of crochet for interest but since its turned cold I want to knit something a bit warmer!

Can't believe its only two weeks to Christmas! I promised myself I wouldn't do any present knitting this year so as not to feel under any pressure but some how I still have in my mind that I'll do some, although with each passing day that seems more and more unlikely!!

Splitting Ply

At last I finished off my first Ply Split necklace. It had been sitting around unfinished for ages but a couple of weeks ago I added some beads to fasten with (the Tiger's Eye pendant is from ebay) I've also now started another piece since I've bought a book from Julie Hedges who is giving a workshop on Ply-splitting at our Guild next year. This pattern is called "Oriental Waves" and isn't as complicated as it looks although I did make a mistake on the train the other day.

Its really nice and soothing to do plus very portable but the only problem is that the cord winder needed to make the cords into 4 ply is nearly £100! Luckily for me Averil has one and kindly let me borrow it recently.
